So Maybe I'll Do a Little Blogging . . .

Hello Friends! I've been thinking about the blogging concept for a while, but I've been a bit intimidated by the blogging world. Would I have interesting things to say on a regular basis? Would I want any more people to have to hear the things flying around in my head? Would they want to hear those things? They're questions that remain to be answered, but I guess I'll do this a while anyway.

The impetus for change is that I want to join the Knitting Olympics, sponsored by Yarn Harlot. Now you don't have to have a blog to participate, but I thought perhaps the occasion would provide me with guaranteed material for blogging. Baby steps for blogging.

Anyway, I haven't knit a sweater yet and I've been itching to for a while now. So I think I'll take the challenge and give it a whirl. I'll probably opt for a basic pattern like a top-down raglan worked in the round in stockinette stitch with just a little bit of shaping. Much like the Top Down Raglan Cardigan idea from Glamyre knits, though I probably won't do the wide ribbing and I'd like it to stay a pullover rather than have it transformed into a cardigan.

So there we go. In the next couple days I'll need to get the yarn for the project (I've been itching to go to Threaded Bliss and see all their new colors of Cascade anyway) and then do some swatching and mathing and numbering (oh, my!). I'll keep you, my new little blogging world, informed of how the progress is going!
