"Knit, People, Knit"

So I'm knittin' on my sofa 'round about 7:00 tonight, and Gilmore Girls comes on. And we open to a scene of Lorelai knitting! Then the whole town is knitting--in practice for a town knit-a-thon! Wheeee! So I'm knitting along with all the people in Luke's Diner, and knitting with everyone in Stars Hollow's town square. Of course a few of those people are only fake knitting, but there is a nice-looking swift featured prominently. I'm very amused by the high knitting content of the night's tv.

I've started this sock so that this guy has a mate.

I'm also truckin' along on a light blue scarf, and I started a black cardigan (the Equestrian Blazer from Interweave Knits' latest issue--pretty!!!).

Felt Like a Kid Again . . .

I went to visit my friend Shelley in Kentucky and among other things we jumped hay bales while I had flashbacks to my childhood.

Jumpin' hay bales . . .
yeah, we conquered the bale, baby!

Neckwarmer Pattern

A few of my knitting friends have asked for the pattern for the neckwarmer I made a while back, so here it is. I didn't write it down as I was making it, so I'm partially going on my memory here. My apologies if my memory is a little fuzzy.

Yarn: about half a skein of Misti Alpaca Chunky (a full skein is 108 yards)
Needles: Size 13 circular needle (um, 12 or 16 inches long, I think--something short)

CO 40 stitches. Place marker and join to work in the round.
Work K2, P2 ribbing for 4 inches.

On next round increase stitches and start cables as follows: *K into the back of the second stitch on left-hand needle then K first stitch and slide both stitches off the needle, P2, K1 front and back, K1, P2. Repeat from * around.

Round 1: *K2, P2, K3, P2. Repeat from * around.
Round 2: *K2, P2, K3, P2. Repeat from * around.
Round 3: *K into the back of the second stitch on left-hand needle then K first stitch and slide both stitches off the needle, P2, K3, P2. Repeat from * around.
Repeat these 3 rounds for about 7 inches. Bind off and weave in ends.

We Set a Date!!!

September 29, 2007
Nashville, TN

We have a church! We have a reception hall! Therefore, we have enough planned to officially set the date. This is such a relief for me and Chris. I know there will be plenty other details to decide on later, but having these big things set is a good feeling.

I've reverted back to my dishclothing ways. The stole gets a little attention now and then, but for the most part I'm called by all these pretty color combinations . . .

Catch all that?
